The Genesis of Phraseology

Bodacious (adj.)

Did you know that the word bodacious was derived from the word 'boldacious' which was originally combined with the words 'bold' and 'audacious'? The word was initially referred to as 'bodaciously' which was considered a slang. The expression commenced as a slang taking on additional meanings: (sexy; voluptuous) was predominantly used, then (bold; brazen) was added, and then (remarkable; outstanding), which maintained the equipotential slang. Today, in geographic locations such as South Midland and Southern US and throughout, the archetypal meaning (no longer slang), is defined as (blatant; unmistakable) and is used as an adjective. The word was revived in a hollywood film sometime in 1982.

I hope you found this post to exhibit a revelation. The spelling of words may or may not change slightly, however, the meanings change over time, in many instances it can change quite drastically. You may be surprised to find that your favorite expressions may not mean what you think they mean. I have included some interesting synonyms I picked up in my search for further reading and provided an example sentence by today's standards.

Synonyms: Courageous, wild, dashing, wise, et al.
Example sentence:
Though she was timid and afraid, she was bodacious enough to defend her honor in the face of her opposers.

Life Anew

Crying alone in my room
as my thoughts ponder
on the idea that in just a few days
my life will have changed forever.

I cannot fathom the notion
that I have never been so scared
to embrace a love I had only read in books
and dreamed of as a little girl.

Then I died in my sleep!

Love Letter!

Your voice is an intonation of a nostalgic melody
The very sound of your breath brings me to sublimity
Your ways are tender, provident, and pure
Counting on you I am certain, incandescently sure
You are the beginning and end to our story
My sunshine morning glory

My tears of joy are like crystalized snow
I want to crawl into your mould
I am with you forever to behold
Our love story I want to be told
Your piercing eyes mesmerize my soul
Your very presence gives me conviction
Without your love there is no existence

You are the undeniable substance in my vigor
The steed I steered through the calming river
The impression of your touch makes me quiver

Together we radiate in splendor
Our gaze beams with chemistry
Through you my hope abounds with infinite clemency

You brighten the colors in my garden
My faith is renewed with you as my one true spartan

You make my heart palpitate
Your love can only insatiate

Your smile brings me home
I know with you I’m never alone

You are my love, my breath of life
I can’t wait to be your one true lover, your beloved wife!

Omnipotence Paradox & The Seemingly Unanswerable Question

In order to understand the “omnipotence paradox” one must first define it.
What is a paradox?
• It is a statement or proposition that seems self-contradictory or absurd but in reality expresses a possible truth.
• A self-contradictory and false proposition.
• Any person, thing, or situation exhibiting an apparently contradictory nature.
• An opinion or statement contrary to commonly accepted opinion. (Dictionary.com)
What is an omnipotence paradox?
"It is a family of related paradoxes addressing the question of whether the existence of an omnipotent entity is logically possible. The paradox states that if a being can perform any action, then it should be able to create a task it is unable to perform, and hence, it cannot perform all actions." (Princeton University)

The answer is a matter of choice. If God creates a task, he undoubtedly created it for a purpose. How he chooses to take on such task is a matter of preference although this does not imply that he is unable to perform it. Only a philosophical question puts doubt in this fact by assuming that God is unable to perform all actions. God is the perfect example of government that no human is able to undertake.

According to Oxford Dictionaries, omnipotence is “the quality of having unlimited or very great power.” This answers the very question posed in the paradox yet some have made it seem that it is a mystery. Since no human can ever possess such exceptional qualities, it is befitting to accredit this magnificence to the giver of life, Jehovah God without question or doubt. Because mankind has the innate tendency to question our very existence, it only makes sense that humans question what they do not understand and thus are limited in their power of reason, which results in paradoxes and seemingly well thought out contradictions. I have come to the conclusion that due to this abstract and independent way of thinking, their notions are unequivocally null. However, topics such as these intrigue me and I find myself searching high and low for ways I can defend the truth.

The power of omnipotence describes “foreknowledge” and “foreordination” because the scriptures in the Bible such as Job 36:22, 27:23, and 1 Chronicles 29:11 demonstrate God’s perfect and almighty strength which require the use of his limitless ability to act. His virtue of power to fulfill his purpose with great authority as he chooses is comforting, not paradoxical. His majestic qualities are decisively veiled. This is an irrefutable reality that has averted us from eradication, a choice only the highest Supreme Being can make. Cleary this is indicated by his righteous standards and judgments that are indeed flawless. His personal choice gives us a glimpse of his magnitude. Allowing underserved ones to exist reveals his power in how he decides to govern accomplishing his purpose, that which is “tempered by his mercy” (it, 851).

According to the Oxford English Dictionary, to be omnipotent is “as an attribute of a god, esp. the Christian God or Christ: almighty; all-powerful, having infinite power.” The etymology of the word can be traced back to c1330, which is debatable; it originated as an adjective. In the last century or so, the definition has been defined as “an omnipotent person or being; spec. (with the): God. Occas. in pl.: a group of people collectively sharing omnipotence.”

Its original definition has shuffled in meaning through the centuries being described currently as a noun and has been given human characteristics. Clearly God’s power is unparalleled, however, due to conventional society, many philosophical scholars have placed a seemingly doubtful question that has a clear-cut answer. “I am that I am” (Exodus 3:14). God chooses to be who he chooses to be. God’s choices always have a purpose. The omnipotent paradox is a question of confusion that makes it impossible to give a definitive answer. “With God all things are possible” (Matt. 19:26). We must keep in mind that languages and cultures change over time; the linguistic nature of words are derived from confusion and cryptic archetypes, which attributes to the omnipotence paradox we are challenged with today.

Homeless Storm

Melek sits alone in a dark room looking outside the window. She searches for lightening as she hears the summer’s thunder. She inhales and exhales in short breaths from the sobbing. She puts her hand on the window as she hears the raindrops tap the glass. The sound is her only friend. The raindrops serenade her; they give her a sense of peace. Melek smiles tenderly; she knows it is a song of wonder. She leans her head on the window and closes her eyes. Her tears fall down her face in call and response to the raindrops as if it were a melody. To her, between the raindrops and her tears, there’s a certain harmony. She swings her left hand like a symphonic conductor and giggles with her eyes still closed, as she bites the nail of her right thumb. It is her happy place. Melek giggles innocently as if she were in a crowded room full of attendants. The sound makes her feel lovely, alive.

Suddenly, thunder plunges into her momentary peace. Though Melek contemplates its roaring presence, she is caught by surprise by its demanding manifestation. Unexpectedly, she feels cold and empty. She takes a deep breath and looks up at the sky. She can only see darkness and tints of light. She is a lost orphan standing disoriented and alone; she exists in a microcosm of a bitter world. She places both hands on the window in an effort to reconnect with the raindrop's melody. The clouds hover in disarray. Her heart is struck with an unbearable pain. Thunder has only come to destroy her peace and Darkness tries to intimidate her. Melek is stronger than she wants to believe. She trusts the specks of light despite the distance in the far sky. She cries out to its luminescence. Without hesitation, she leans toward the window, kneels, and begins to pray.

Thunder endeavors to crush her spirit. Melek reaches to the sky; she is not afraid. She finds beauty in all that glistens. She gives her all to endure the treacherous weather. She can’t help but cry out; she feels somewhat defeated. Her tears fall endlessly. She is in anguish. Then, the storm seemingly subsides, as if to fool her. Though Melek is weak, she stands tall as if to portray strength. Strong winds begin to suddenly blow causing debris to hit the window in an attempt to shake her seemingly weak spirit. She places her hands on the window, preparing for devastation. Melek flinches and becomes startled, this may be her last attempt of hope. In a façade of energy she smiles, but she is internally fading. Thunder seems relentless.

However, Darkness begins to pass as Light drives it away. Light has come to save her once again destroying Darkness. Amazingly, Melek remains pure. She is left in solitude, protected. Desperate to hear sounds of life and joy; her thoughts pierce her with memories of color. She no longer exists in monochrome. Everything Light touches gives it wondrous iridescence.

Melek knows that with every storm comes a new beginning and Darkness will have to find a home elsewhere.

Sometimes she yearns for the storm's return. Her only desire is to feel wanted. Despite the storms bitterness toward her, being hated seems fitting at times; even so, it makes her feel alive. She rationalizes the torment as recongnition. Feeling ousted, she yearns to be remembered. She is desperate to forget her neglected condition. She believes one day, things will be made right. Melek just wants to be loved. It is the basis for her existence; if she feels nothing then death seems more of a friend than her enemy. Melek has been swiftly assaulted by the unexpected storm many times, yet she welcomes it with open arms. Her innocence has made her numb to its painful blows. She understands that the storm is homeless and she knows it will come back to haunt her. Somehow she forgets the pain. Though she has stood in the midst of the storm, Light gives her a sense of hope; it helps her regain her validation. Melek thus runs outside in search for Light's embrace. Light gives her inner peace and shelters her from Darkness.

Light knows exactly what she needs and glistens on her skin as it maintains her aesthetic beauty. She is grateful. She raises her head with arms wide open. She looks up toward the sky with her eyes closed, smiling, and inhaling the fresh breeze of purity and dew. Light radiates on her glowing skin full of life. Melek understands that as long as there is Light, she is beautiful. Light tenderly protects her. It favors her splendor above her rivals. It brings her justice and sustains her. Though she recognizes this, her heart breaks with sadness. The flesh of her flesh and bone of her bones has deserted her. Despite her sorrows, she gains strength; not all is lost. She trusts Light and knows it to be her only source of hope. She understands that Light effortlessly draws out Darkness. She loves, believes, and endures for the sake of Light. Though Melek may fall, she has faith that Light will always give her enough strength to withstand another storm.

Melek finally understands that she is not alone and realizes that Light has been there all along. Although it is hard to believe, she holds it in her heart and vows never to be ungrateful. In the end, Melek dances in the rain and has no recollection of the pain until another storm pays her a visit and Light ignites the fire of hope to endure another day.

Love Ballad

As I remain…

I burst with emotion
Your love is golden
A spilling heart of splendor
My soul effortlessly surrenders
I move endlessly in motion
My heart has been stolen
Aware of this notion
My mind is a locomotion

My heart is always aglow
Without you I am in woe

As you remain…

Designed by love
You are my dove
A true blessing from above
Though these words are few
With each silent moment beside you
I am made anew

You are the remedy to my soul
Indebted to you I will always uphold

A soothing calm
You are like balm
Always healing my wounds
I was made a prerequisite to you
My one and only gentleman groom
Only with you, I am always in bloom

Your eloquence radiates inflection
Always in need of your affection
Sanity seems like an infection
You are my only exception

You are the fire that burns within me
The touch of your lips only serves to revive me

Even in the darkness of night
You light up the sky with brightness light
My tears of joy glisten in the moonlight
Unlike the brightest star
Your brilliance glistens by far

Your essence serves to personify the rose moss
Without you I would be at a loss
Your breath unclutters my thoughts
Your sweet kisses are like applesauce
Formed to inhale your very essence
I long to endure forever your presence

I belong to you as you belong to me
Given every opportunity we exist in unity
You are all I’ll ever need
Only you complete me
